Phone number? Really?!

Get this…I get a call today. Was not sure who it was, so I did not get it. Beep – they left a voicemail. Something along these lines:

Hello, this is your electric company calling. We are showing that you have 3 month of outstanding electric bills. Please make sure to call us or send in your payment immediately. If the payment is not received, your service will be suspended.

Now I am freaking out. Where have my payments been going? Who has been receiving them? If it was not the electric company, then who? I get right back on the phone and call them. I am on hold for close to 20 minutes. Finally, I get someone.

Long story short, this particular company tracks customer accounts by their phone number. So, some dumb ass that had my phone number 3 years ago decided not to pay their electric bill for 3 months. I get the call, I freak out, I wasted time…this is crap!

Michael Savage, Savage Nation

Every night while heading home from work I listen to talk radio.  Last week I  was listening to Michael Savage and the callers who contacted his show.  Each time for nearly 45 minutes the caller said the same crap…I love you Michael, you’re great Michael…etc…  So for a man who is supposed to attack the issues and so on, his callers spend more time pumping him up than talking about anything real.  Why should I listen to that crap!  Stop screening your calls jackass and let someone who has something real to say actually speak.

Springfield MA traffic sucks!

Good Luck traveling in this city anytime of day…if you don’t know your way around, don’t count on the detour signs helping you out…major roadwork everywhere!

1st grader sent to reform school

So as the story goes, a 1st grader brought a camping tool to school to eat lunch with.  It had a fork, spoon and knife in it.  The official “zero tolerance” rule has sent this 1st grader to reform school for 45 days.  Really?  Yes!  These idiots sent a 6 year old to reform school.  Beyond the obvious that a 6 year old has no business in reform school, the zero tolerance ruling is what has caused my real problem with this situation.  Apparently the powers that be are unable to think for themselves and make rulings on a case by case basis.  So if the administrators can’t think for themselves, how do you expect the children too?

Consumer computer

I was talking to a friend who needed some computer advise. I’ve been building and servicing PC for over 10 years. They were concerned with their computer performance.

So I started asking the usual questions: How old is the computer? What brand is it? What operating system is it running? How often do you do the maintainence on it?

These were the answers:

Well, it’s only 6 or 7 years old – Only?
It’s a PC, but why would I need to do any maintainence?

I don’t know?! Try going 6-7 years with out changing oil on your car, then see how well it will perform then.

Why ask a question from an expert if you’re going to pretend that you know the answer anyway.
